Words from papa:

1) What prompted you to choose the children's room design with Montessori elements for your children?

In the beginning, we planned to reorganize the children's room for two reasons: 1) our younger son is about to be one year old, and we decided that he should sleep in the same room as his older brother. At that time, we had designed the child's room for only one child, so we wanted to change. 2) Because we are a so-called "expatriate family" (that is, a family that the company will send to work in different countries for a few years), we will not be able to settle in one place for a long time. Our children are still very young, and we hope to give them a so-called "reference point" to help them establish a sense of security and adapt to the new and unfamiliar environment. In the end, we decided that the "reference point" would be their bedroom (after all, they spent most of the time in their bedroom). We hope that no matter where we go, we can keep their bedroom almost the same most of the time.

Adding Montessori elements is the bonus point for the whole project. Our children are studying in Montessori schools, and their mother is also a supporter of "Montessori at home Montessori." For us, Montessori is an attitude to life. If possible, we certainly hope that the child can live in an extended Montessori environment.

2) How does the child react towards the new room? Have you seen anything different about children?

Our elder son is very excited. Apart from sleeping with his younger brother, he can decide more things independently, such as "choosing clothes" and "hanging clothes and school bags." He is also very excited because he can sleep in the tent all the time. Our younger son is thrilled with the "floor bed", which he can move freely, the open bookshelf and wardrobe, and has been trying to take books and clothes by himself.

Two children can play together longer and become more independent.
